Last week, Wegmans announced that they would be opening ten new stores to fill out their East Coast presence, two of which will be coming to Massachusetts. In the wake of the news that Burlington and Westwood would soon be home to Wegmans locations, we have some more details on the Burlington store to get you excited for another opening.

The Burlington Wegmans will officially open on October 26, 2014, at 7 a.m. in the shopping center located on 3rd Avenue in Burlington. The store will be a 135,000 square foot marketplace, complete with a wine and beer outlet as well as indoor and outdoor seating; indoors, guests will sit at a mezzanine-level dining area, with a bird’s-eye view of the action below. The official rendering of the store’s exterior can be seen above.

With the upcoming opening comes hundreds of job positions to fill. Currently, Wegmans is looking to hire 400 employees for the store for part-time work (the 200 full-time positions are currently being filled). The grocery chain, which has been named to Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for 17 straight years, is looking for local workers to fill open positions in culinary food prep to customer service and more.

Wegmans is hosting three open interview days this month at the Wegmans Employment Offices, located at 71 3rd Avenue in Burlington. The open interviews will take place August 15 and 16 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and August 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on applying, head to Wegmans’ career page.

As of now, the Wegmans chain consists of 84 stores in six states. Currently, Northborough and Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts are home to local Wegmans, with the upcoming Westwood location slated for a 2015 opening.
