Blank Label believes in custom fit, and while you can order a made-just-for-you shirt from their online store after following their measuring directions, it just makes sense to bring a custom-made retailer into the real world. The Boston menswear company, after launching in 2009, opened their first brick and mortar in 2013, and now, their second location in Boston has opened.

Located on Bromfield Street in Downtown Crossing, the new Blank Label storefront is the newest addition to the company’s presence in the city; their first location is in Back Bay on Gloucester Street. While the online experience will get you a perfectly fitted dress shirt, the stores can fit customers for suit pants, ties, jackets and more.

The company, founded by Danny Wong and Fan Bi, a former Babson student, has grown to employ 22, reports BetaBoston, and has raised $500,000 in angel investments.

In a previous statement, Bi told BostInno that the company has no plans to build out an oversized flagship store. Said Bi:

We operate a small and intimate space that offers one-on-one by-appointment-only experiences giving our clients a sense of comfort, care and exclusivity.

Bi expanded on that in a recent email to BostInno, saying that they’re happy to be bringing a location to the Downtown Crossing area, a convenient place for professionals working in the Financial District.

“The convenience for our busy clients cannot be understated,” said Bi. “As well, our Pattern Room filled with luxury fabrics and vintage furniture is a welcome change from the impersonal atmosphere offered by neighboring big-box clothiers.”

So if you’re looking to invest in a suit that fits, pay a visit to the newly opened Blank Label in Downtown Crossing. The store is located at 36 Bromfield Street, tucked away in a second floor location apart from the likes of TJ Maxx, DSW and Marshall’s that currently dominate the DTX shopping district, or the “big-box clothiers” that Bi mentioned. Fittings are by appointment only.
