Looking for a new place to go for a night of casual live music and drinks this summer? A music venue and restaurant has opened within the Ames Hotel, and from Tuesday through Sunday this August, you can catch a different artist in house, providing a fresh way to vibe almost every night of the week.

King Street Tavern is now up and running, and the new space inside the Ames Hotel is a no-cover venue for the listening pleasures of those in the dining room, bar and lounge areas. According to the official release, the tavern plans to combine food, drink and entertainment in the center of Downtown Boston, just steps from the Freedom Trail and in the shadow of the Old State House.

Five local artists have taken up nightly residencies at King Street for the rest of August, ranging in variety from funk and blues to DJ mixes, with more artists to be added. Guests are invited in for a night of casual listening, drinks, dancing and dinner both during the work week and on the weekends. Here’s the artist-in-residency schedule for the rest of the summer:

Tuesdays, 5:30 to 8 p.m. – Singer and American Idol Top 10 finalist Erica Van Pelt.

Wednesdays, 7 to 11 p.m. – Blues and Americana group The Colin Bradley Trio.

Thursdays, 7 to 11 p.m. – Vinyl DJ Chromatix.

Fridays, 10 p.m. to close – JAMN 94.5 DJ Jules.

Saturdays, 7 to 10 p.m. – Funk and soul group The Squabbles.
Saturdays, 11 p.m. to close – Rotating DJ sets.

Sundays, 7 to 11 p.m. – Assortment of local talent, to be announced.

As for the dining options at King Street Tavern, there are currently only bites and drinks available due to their soft launch. But coming up on September 1, two dining options will begin: First is the “King’s Court,” held nightly from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring a drink menu alongside complimentary passed appetizers; following is the “King’s Grill,” from 6 to 10 p.m., a four-course prix fixe with options like swordfish, filet, veal chop and more.

The Ames Hotel is located at 1 Court Street in Boston.

Update: A previous version of the article stated that the dining program was already in place; we’ve updated to reflect the correct starting date, which is September 1.
