Urban Art Bar, which has been providing a permanent home for paint night lovers in Boston since 2012, has officially opened the doors to their new digs in South Boston. Formerly taking up space on Old Colony Ave, the art bar relocated this year to 709 East Broadway Street, and their new and improved location already has a stocked calendar schedule for the fall.

According to Urban Art Bar Founder Heather Carbone, the new location even has its own mantra: “The art of…” This means that in addition to paint nights, Urban Art Bar will be hosting events surrounding the art of literature, fashion, mixology, health and wellness and more.

“The idea here is to honor, appreciate and share all the forms that art has to offer,” said Carbone in a press release.

While guests can count on at least three different paint nights per week at Urban Art Bar, the September calendar shows that they’re branching out and hosting more diverse events at their new Southie space. Current spots on the calendar for these new events include “Art of the Book Club,” which invites book clubs to sign up and meet in the space,”The Art of Fashion, Hair and Makeup,” an in-house runway show put on by local boutique Habit and Nurture Salon and Spa, and “The Art of Mixology,” a cocktail mixing class taught by the team at Grand Ten Distilling.

In addition to the classes, Urban Art Bar also offers Monday night “Wind Downs,” special Monday events that offer complimentary wine and beer from local wine and beer makers. That’s right – you can reward yourself after every grueling Monday with a free wine or beer over at Urban Art Bar. It’s free to get in, too, but space is limited.

For nourishment during these nightly events, Urban Art Bar’s bar offers seasonal cocktails, like the appropriate “Picasso’s Passion” made with Alize Passion Fruit Liqueur and Prosecco, in addition to beer and wine, as well as newly introduced small plates to snack on. The food menu is filled with no-fuss snacks like a cracker, cheese and pepperoni plate, salted pretzels and pigs in a blanket.
