Who doesn’t love a good Sunday Funday? Fortunately for Boston diners, the end of August is jam-packed with so many great Sunday event options – all of which are sure to make you forget about that Monday morning commute. And if you’re a fan of themed brunches and food, in general, then we recommend joining The Good Ones for this Sunday’s Top Secret Top Chef Battle.

This Sunday’s “brunch battle” will mark the finale of the Top Secret Top Chef Battle series. Diners can expect to see two local sous chefs going head-to-head, each serving up 3 Machiavelli-inspired courses.

The competing chefs will be Brendan Burke, sous chef at Bastille Kitchen, and Ben Harwood, sous chef at Tico. The purpose of the event is to “give cool, diverse, interesting, and interested Bostonians from all backgrounds the opportunity to enjoy meeting one another… with food, custom craft cocktails, entertainment” – all while enjoying Tico’s patios, notes The Good Ones.

And to make the event even more festive, attendees are also encouraged to don their best yellow, purple and red attire to the party. In addition to supporting the mission of the local start-up, The Good Ones, the party will also focus on raising awareness for two non-profits including VitaminAngels.org and for local fishery, CapeAnnFreshCatch.org.

The Top Secret Top Chef Battle takes place this Sunday, August 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information on the event and to buy your ticket, check the event page here. And happy brunching!
