Millennium Tower Construction Site

Boston is changing, no doubt about it. It seems every neighborhood from Somerville to Southie is buzzing with construction. As our cityscape transforms before our very eyes, it is impossible not to wonder: is it for the better? Plenty of cities aren’t responsible about urban development, but we are lucky Boston isn’t one of them. The City and the construction companies they partner with care about both the community and environmental impact. Not only are they experts in construction but quite often innovators, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and ushering in the next era of urban development. Most of Boston’s new buildings are green, sustainable, and also, smart. Contemporary smart structures are outfitted with building automation systems. Building automation systems, or BAS, monitor and control heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, and often water, fire and life safety from a centralized, cloud-based control center.
