New York Fashion Week is overrated, and exhausting (I assume). Here in Boston, if you want to celebrate a new season of style trends, and score some discounts while you’re at it, then there’s just one night you have to commit to: Back Bay Night Out.

The second annual event, brought together by the Back Bay Association in partnership with the Shops at Prudential Center and Boston Magazine, invites locals to come and enjoy what the Back Bay neighborhood has to offer in a celebration of the business community. For you, the shopper, this means special giveaways, discounts and activities.

Wondering what more to expect? From 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, head to the Shops at Prudential Center for makeovers by Sephora, a look at fall collections (and a chance to win gift cards) by Ann Taylor LOFT, a showcase by Vera Bradley, a “popup lookbook” by NIC+ZOE, and more.

As for the one-night-only discounts, shoppers can look forward to 4o percent off purchases at Vera Bradley; 20 percent off purchases at stores like Kate Spade Saturday, Papyrus, LOFT, Barnes & Noble and Vineyard Vines; and 10 percent off discounts at Chico’s. More businesses like Ben & Jerry’s, The Body Shop and P.F. Chang’s will be running special deals throughout the night as well.

To finish off the evening, The Shops at Prudential will be screening (appropriately) Confessions of a Shopaholic outside in the South Garden at sundown, to stir the shop-till-you-drop mood.
