Who doesn’t know and love the convenience of Instacart? The on-demand, same-day grocery delivery service brings groceries from the likes of Whole Foods, Costco and more, right to customers’ doorsteps in just one hour.

Today it was announced that the grocery delivery startup, which raised $44 million in Series B funding this past summer, is now partnering with Whole Foods Market to offer in-store pickup, in addition to its already existing delivery service.

This means that Whole Foods Market will now be the “first national Instacart partner to offer both delivery and convenient in-store pickup,” notes the release.

Fortunately for Bostonians, Instacart and Whole Foods Market will be piloting this convenient, new pick-up option in our own town. The pickup will be available in select Boston and Austin area stores next month.

The release notes that Instacart and Whole Foods Market do “expect to expand the in-store pickup option to all of the cities Instacart serves.” This includes Atlanta; Austin; Boston; Boulder; Chicago; Denver; Houston; Los Angeles; New York City; Philadelphia; Portland, Oregon; San Francisco; San Jose; Seattle and Washington, DC.

“Instacart and Whole Foods Market are two companies that share a common vision to create great grocery shopping experiences,” said Apoorva Mehta, CEO and founder of Instacart, in a release. “Whole Foods Market is our most requested shopping destination, and we’re happy to be working together to create a seamless, quick option for customers with busy lifestyles,” he notes.

Those interested in ordering Whole Foods Market groceries for pickup can place their order via Instacart.com or the Instacart mobile app. Instead of specifying home delivery times, customers will be able to select their in-store pickup.

The release also states that Instacart and Whole Foods Market will be offering shoppers the chance to win free groceries for one year: “Customers will receive hidden game pieces in Instacart delivery bags beginning September 12th, with five chances to win,” according to the release.
