Adams Park in Roslindale will reopen on Saturday, October 18, after undergoing a renovation project of more than a quarter of a million dollars. Mayor Marty Walsh will be joined by City of Boston officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m.

The $253,500 initiative includes “the installation of a new performance space, walkways, a new electrical system, site furnishings, irrigation, and landscaping” according to the City of Boston Parks & Recreation Department.

A cool $250,000 for the revamping was made possible by the City’s Capital Improvement Plan while the remaining $3,500 for plantings provided by Roslindale Village Main Street and Roslindale Green & Clean.

As if celebrating the reopening of a popular neighborhood park isn’t enough to entice Bostonians to attend, refreshments are to be provided by H.P. Hood LLC, the official dairy sponsor for the Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s 2014 park openings, coffee from The Legget Group, pastries from Meetinghouse Bank, dog and cat treats from Pet Cabaret, hot chocolate from Jimmies Ice Cream, Mexican hot chocolate from El Chavo, cookies from Subway, and Italian pannetone sweet bread from Tony’s Market.

The farmer’s market of Adams Park will also recommence and stay open and available to the public until November 22.
