Blogging is certainly a saturated industry: There’s no bar of entry, but not many are able to garner a national audience with their individual pieces of the web. So, it’s always refreshing to hear a local success story about a local blogger.

One such blogger, Erin Gates, has achieved enough success on the Internet to spin a book out of her blogging fodder. Gates’s blog, Elements of Style, was born out of her career as an interior designer and fashion stylist as a way to complement her interior, fashion and event styling firm, Erin Gates Design. Through her blog, Gates gives a glimpse into her design-oriented mind’s eye, and browsers will find everything from outfit ideas, to wedding inspiration, to stylish home layouts.

Now, Elements of Style: Designing a Home and Life is on sale today, October 7. The book will compartmentalize her blog topics in its pages, and provide a tool to use when attempting to restyle your space on your own (it will also make a fabulous coffee table piece). Tonight, she’ll be signing her book and celebrating the start of her book tour at West Elm Fenway, with champagne and small bites, but the event is sold out. You can find her book (unsigned) on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books a Million, iBooks and Indie Bound.

Still want to get a chance to discuss Gates’s book with her in person? After stopping in cities like New York City, Washington D.C., Dallas and Chicago throughout the month of October, Gates will have a coming-home party at Hudson in Boston on October 30. Guests can register for that event here.
