We certainly haven’t forgotten that October is officially National Pizza Month! In fact, we’ve been busy eating our way through some of Boston’s best and most popular spots – for reference, check out our picks for the city’s best pizza.

But hungry Bostonians aren’t the only ones who acknowledge our city’s pizza pie know-how. It seems that Food & Wine Magazine also agree that New England is quite the hub for tasty pizzerias.

Included on their recent list of “Best Pizza Places in the U.S.” are four New England spots including two in Boston. Both Santarpio’s and A4 Pizza are included on the best pizza list. The magazine states that East Boston’s Santarpio’s, is a “super traditional pizzeria” that “serves outstanding pizzas, like the signature homemade sausage pie.” We can’t argue with that.

When it comes to Chef Michael Leviton’s A4 pizzeria, Food & Wine claims that the restaurant’s “stellar wood-fired pies…comes with addictively charred, blistered sourdough crusts made with a 12-year-old starter.” Hungry yet?

The other New England pizzerias to make the list include Providence’s Al Forno and New Haven’s Pepe’s Pizzeria. Not surprising. Check out Food & Wine’s complete list of Best Pizza Places in the U.S. here.
