As the weather cools down, our need for warm and fatty comfort foods ramps up. Fortunately, if you’ve got a hankering for the ultimate fall comfort food – mac and cheese – you’re in luck. Olde Magoun’s Saloon is serving up a special mac and cheese inspired menu this November.

The Somerville restaurant, known for its seasonal and weekly specials, has named the menu “Mac Attack” and will feature all of their gooey, cheesy, amazing noodles every Wednesday this month.

But trust us – this is not your typical Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.

The restaurant’s Mac Attack menu includes six unique takes on the classic mac ‘n’ cheese dish, including: “Roasted Pumpkin” with marscapone cheese, aged cheddar, shell pasta, applewood smoked bacon, and fried Sage; “Bacon Bomb” with smoked Gouda cheese, penne pasta, quick pickled jalapeńo’s, slab bacon, crispy pork belly, and pancetta; “Braised Short Rib” with fontina cheese, crumbled blue cheese, shell pasta, and crispy shallot’s; “Southern Style” with cheddar cheese, macaroni, buttermilk fried chicken, collard greens, and corn bread crumble; “Hippy” with goat cheese, mozzarella cheese, rigatoni pasta, spinach, portobello mushroom, roasted peppers, sundried tomato, and foccacia herb crumbs; “Seared Foie Gras” with raclette cheese, crčme fraiche, gemelli pasta, red wine demi glacé, and white truffle essence.

How’s that for a twist on the classic comfort food?
