One of Somerville’s best restaurants, Kirkland Tap & Trotter, will launch a cafe this coming December, reports the Boston Globe. The article notes that the cafe “will serve to-go coffee, tea, pastries, and yogurt on weekends from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.”

The cafe will open on Saturday, December 6. Chef-owner Tony Maws also has plans to launch a Saturday brunch service as well, reports the article. Currently, Kirkland Tap & Trotter only offers a Sunday brunch service.

But while Kirkland will be adding one brunch, it looks at though Maws’ other restaurant Craigie on Main will be ending their weekend brunch service. The Boston Globe reports that the restaurant will end their brunch on Sunday, December 28. But – not to worry – the article adds that many of Craigie’s tasty brunch dishes (think: housemade donuts) “will reappear as Kirkland specials.”
