Everytime we turn around it seems that a new bar, restaurant or shop is opening its doors in Somerville’s Assembly Row. Just this month, we welcomed the American Fresh Brewhouse as well as the French bakery, Paul, to the Somerville neighborhood.

And soon, a new bar dubbed Tony C’s Sports Bar & Grill will join the slew of new Assembly Row restaurants. According to a release, the sports bar will most likely open sometime this December.

The 11,000 square-foot, baseball-themed venue is named in honor of Red Sox legend and Massachusetts native, Tony Conigliaro. Diners can expect a sports bar with a retro feel. The bar will feature open-faced brick walls decorated with black and white photography, and there will be 90 TVs to satisfy all of your sports-viewing needs. The restaurant will also have an outdoor patio overlooking the Mystic River, seating up to 144 guests.

The restaurant’s menu features made-from-scratch menu items featuring fresh American comfort food. Regional dishes from around the country will include Seafood Jumbalaya (spicy tomato sauce, spicy sausage, chicken, shrimp, onion, and celery), Philly Cheesesteak Wontons (slow roasted steak shaved thin, a mix of three cheeses, frizzled onions, and Tony’s secret sauce), the #25 Burger (cheddar cheese, smoked BBQ sauce, fried pork belly, fried egg, on a sesame brioche bun) and the Chicken Conigliaro (pan seared chicken, lemon white wine sauce, and capers).

Tony C’s Sports Bar & Grill will open at 699 Assembly Row in Somerville. The restaurant will be open daily for lunch, dinner and cocktails from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. For more information, check out Tony C’s Facebook page.
