Hopefully you have enough energy left over from Thanksgiving and Black Friday to make something of this weekend. Now that the holiday season has officially begun, it’s time to get out there and enjoy the magic.

Friday

Thangsgiving – 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Arts at the Armory Somerville – All day long, musicians, dancers and other performers will be partaking in a day of arts for Art on Black Friday. Don’t feel like shopping? There’s still time to get in on the performances. Suggested donation is $2 per hour.

“O.P.C.” Premiere – 7:30 p.m. – American Repertory Theater – In a new performance premiering at the A.R.T., the author of The Vagina Monologues explores a lesson in O.P.C., or “obsessive political correctness.”

Carlos Mencia – 7:30 p.m. – The Wilbur Theater – Looking for a comedy show tonight? Carlos Mencia is headlining at the Wilbur Theater, bringing his audacious comedy to Boston.

Saturday

Small Business Saturday – All day – Various retailers – Ditch the big retailers and support small businesses on Saturday, when various local retailers will be offering promotions in honor of the holiday season, teamed up with American Express. Annual Boston Tube Christmas Concert – 2 to 5 p.m. – Faneuil Hall – The annual Boston Tuba Christmas Concert will bring together 150 of Boston’s tuba players, who will serenade the crowd with Christmas carols, tuba style. Free to attend.

Charles Hotel Tree Lighting – 4 p.m. – Charles Hotel – The Santa Clause Jazz Band, Henrietta’s Table, and Santa Clause himself will join together to make the lighting of the Harvard Square holiday trees at the Charles Hotel even more special. Children are invited to help decorate the tree with ornaments and bows. This year’s event will benefit the Cambridge Family and Children’s Services.

Sunday

Local is for Lovers Art Market – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Arts at the Armory Somerville – Local artists, crafters, businesses, food, live music and more will come together for a free market in Somerville. In addition to the vendors, there will be demonstrations and classes all day long.

Fall and Winter Craft Fair – 1 to 6 p.m. – Out of the Blue Too Art Gallery – Starting this Sunday and continuing every Sunday through December, Out of the Blue Too Art Gallery on Mass Ave. will be hosting a craft fair with art, jewelry, paintings and more, perfect for unique gifts this holiday season.

2014 Boston Fashion Awards – 7 p.m. – Bijou – Celebrating the best designers, stylists, models, photographers and more of the city’s fashion industry stars is the 2014 Boston Fashion Awards, taking place at Bijou this weekend. There will be a fashion show to follow the awards ceremony.
