Thanksgiving is behind us, December has begun, and the holidays are on the horizon. But let’s just take it one week at a time, okay? Most importantly, on deck this week is BostInno’s third annual 50 on Fire awards, an event that brings Boston’s top movers, shakers and innovators across nine industries together in one room. Monday

Commonwealth Avenue Mall Lighting – 5 p.m. – Commonwealth Ave. Mall at Arlington Street – Join Mayor Walsh to watch the Commonwealth Avenue Mall light up for the season. The Boston University Singers will perform at the lighting, and Taj Boston will serve cookies and hot chocolate.

Accela’s End-of-Year Civic Tech Cocktail Party – 7 p.m. – The Old State House – Celebrate a big year in civic technology and the open data movement with Accela CEO Maury Blackman. The end-of-year event will recognize the city’s big names in civic tech, unveil a new report, and toast to the year’s success.

December @ Dewey – Month of December – Dewey Square – All month long, Dewey Square will bring additional food and fashion trucks to the plaza for shopping and eating through the holiday season. Check the complete vendor schedule here.

Tuesday

Cook Cooks for Charity – 4:30 to 10 p.m. – Cook Newton – To benefit the Boston Children’s Hospital, Cook Newton is hosting a special “Cook for Charity” event with Ben and Tonya Mezrich. The husband-wife duo will be cooking up flatbreads, the proceeds of which will be donated to the hospital. The event kicks off Cook’s charity month.

Copley Square Tree Lighting – 5 to 6 p.m. – Copley Square – On Tuesday, Mayor Walsh will be at the Copley Square tree lighting, along with Santa Clause, Rudolph and Janet Wu. The Boston Pops Brass Ensemble will provide entertainment, and a reception will be held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza with photos with Santa, cookie decorating and more.

Giving Tuesday Benefit Night – 5 to 9 p.m. – Flatbread Somerville – On Tuesday night, Flatbread will celebrate Giving Tuesday by donating 10 percent of all pizza proceeds (dine in or take out) to Eagle Eye, a nonprofit organization that gives urban youth the chance to explore nature.

BSC Presents: A Benefit for Artists for Humanity – 7 to 11 p.m. – Brighton Music Hall – Proceeds from this concert will benefit Artists for Humanity, a local arts organization that will be expanding their South End headquarters, and will feature Bron Don, Quiet Island, L-Ski and more performers. Tickets are $8.

Wednesday

5th Annual Rattlin’ Around the Christmas Tree – 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. – Poe’s Kitchen at the Rattlesnake – Party with Poe’s Kitchen at the Rattlesnake for their 5th annual Christmas party, which donates to the Globe Santa fund. Bid on gift packages, enjoy seasonal cocktails and listen to music provided by the Rollo Tamasi Quartet. Tickets are $20.

Boston Social Athletes 2nd Annual Active Kids Toy Drive – 6:30 p.m. – Back Bay Social Club – For the second year, Boston Social Athletes is dedicating their December social to collecting toys that encourage kids to be active. This year, the toy drive will benefit Action for Boston Community Development.

Thursday

STA + Covet & Lou Holiday Shopping Event – 4 to 8 p.m. – Second Time Around (176 Newbury Street) – Join STA and online boutique Covet & Lou for a discounted shopping event featuring vintage clothing, home goods and accessories. All items will be 20 percent off during the event. On Black Friday, STA is also hosting major discounts: From 7 to 10 a.m., score 50 percent off everything in the store. More discounts will follow throughout the day.

Spaliday 2014 – 5 to 9 p.m. – G2O Spa and Salon – G2O’s fourth annual Spaliday invites you to join Jenny Johnson and the Celtics dancers for the salon’s only shopping night. Get discounts, like 20 percent off any purchase, and shop from special vendors like Oribe, Trish McEvoy and more. There will also be a raffle, for which the proceeds will benefit the Home for Little Wanderers.

Boston’s 73rd Annual Official Tree Lighting – 6 to 8 p.m. – Boston Common – Can’t get enough tree lightings? Close out a sparkling week with the Boston Common tree lighting ceremony, which will light up the tree delivered annually by Nova Scotia. The evening will host Mayor Walsh, “Nashville”’s Chaley Rose, “The Voice” contestant Brittany Butler, the New England Patriots Cheerleaders, Nova Scotia band The Stanfields, the Floorlords dance troupe, and a headliner that has yet to be announced.
