It would appear pop music helps me get through the work day.

It’s been a big year for Spotify: The music-streaming service signed on for a partnership with Uber, survived a very high-profile breakup with Taylor Swift, and reached over 50 million active users in 58 countries.

On a smaller scale, you’ve probably had quite a year, too – interpret that as you will – and if you’re one of those 50 million Spotify users, you’ve also had a soundtrack to back that progress from January to December. So, who was in your headphones?

In addition to charting the overall top artists, songs and albums of the year for the global service overall, Spotify is pulling personalized users’ ‘Year in Music,’ which allows individual Spotify listeners to reflect on what their 2014 sounded like. According to Spotify, the point of the exercise is to “answer the age-old question: ‘So what kind of music are you into?'” For me, the point is finding out how to cover up that my answer to that question is “One Direction.” (At least there are always Spotify private sessions.)

The Year in Music review pulls together a bar graph charting a breakdown of your most-listened-to genres (mine is shown above), followed by your top artists, albums and playlists. Spotify also pulls together the total number of minutes you’ve spent listening to music, either on your computer or on your phone. My total is 33,348 minutes, and (thanks to having also listened to the “Rent” soundtrack along the way) I can deduce, potentially incorrectly, that six percent of my year was spent listening to Spotify music. I also learned that I most often tune out the world on Mondays, naturally.

To top it all off, Spotify puts together a personalized playlist, dubbed “Play It Forward,” based on the music they think you’ll like in 2015, based on what you listened to in 2014. So go forth in the new year, and jam out.
