Next week, Boston diners can experience a restaurant before it opens. According to a release, Jewish pop-up concept, Kitchen Kibitz, will be teaming up Commonwealth chef, Nookie Postal, for a special preview of his upcoming restaurant concept, Steinbones.

The “Eight Crazy Bites of Hanukkah Party” will feature barbecue and Jewish deli hybrid dishes like potato latke’s accompanied with condiments like black cherry barbecue sauce and New York deli mustard. Other tasty dishes available for preview at the upcoming event will include Carrot latke with honey crisp apple butter; a Jerusalem artichoke latke with crčme fraiche and chives; specialty donuts, handcrafted by Stephanie Cmar will be featured for dessert and paired with Nookie’s famous homemade ice cream.

Jeff Gabel, founder of Kitchen Kibitz, stated in a release, “I’ve been wanting to do a dinner with Nookie ever since I started Kitchen Kibitz.” He adds “I’m so happy we’re making it happen this time, and that it will be celebrating Hanukkah which is such a special holiday to many people. I can’t wait to share this menu and experience with everyone.”

For those unfamiliar with Kitchen Kibitz, the pop-up works with various restaurants to host unique and innovative pop-up meals around town. Each dinner is themed according to appropriate events going on that month and includes a unique Jewish menu.

Postal’s Steinbones restaurant (a Jewish-inspired BBQ concept) is now expected to open in early 2015, according to Boston Magazine.

The Steinbones meets Kitchen Kibitz event will take place at Commonwealth Market & Restaurant, at 11 Broad Canal Way in Kendall Square, Cambridge. Take a look at their menu (below) and purchase your tickets here.
