It’s always fun to lust after ridiculously luxe items that fit nowhere in our budgets. That is, if you consider self-torture fun. As it happens, we do.

And if a sick new pair of sneakers is your weakness, then look no further for some serious shoe porn. After taking a look into the best gifts to buy from Boston’s local shoe brands, which top out at a price of $347 for a pair of Made in Maine boots, we decided to take it to the next level and find some of the most expensive sneakers on the market.

These are all splurge-worthy for different reasons, but they have one thing in common: They’ll burn a nice, big hole in your bank account. Unless, of course, you’re Kanye West.

Adidas Porsche Design Sport bounce:s3

Price: $534
Materials: Mesh, rubber
Why the high price? This Adidas performance shoe is a collaboration with Porsche, meaning they’re comparing this shoe to a car. Made with an “auto-inspired suspension system,” it’s designed for high performance energy return and comfort.

Maison Martin Margiela Metallic Triple-Strap Sneakers

Price: $740
Materials: Leather, amber rubber
Why the high price? These metallic sneakers, like the Giuseppe Zanotti high-tops, are made in Italy with real leather. They’re also mad fancy, not to mention flashy. Is that enough reason for you?

Valentino Camo Tennis Shoe

Price: $795
Materials: Canvas and leather
Why the high price? Other than being Valentino, these shoes have it all going on in the detail. From a studded heel to camo canvas blended with leather accents, it will be hard to find such a seemingly simple yet expertly crafted shoe.

Rick Owens for Adidas

Price: $814
Materials: 100 percent cow leather, 100 percent goat leather and rubber
Why the high price? Designer Rick Owens SS14 off-the-runway collaboration with Adidas is a high-end version of a seemingly regular Adidas shoe. Except this version is made with two kinds of genuine leather, and is also an off-the-runway special sneaker.

Giuseppe Zanotti High-Top Sneakers

Price: $1,150
Materials: Leather, silk-satin and gold
Why the high price? Giuseppe Zanotti is known for its high-end sneakers, and that status is reflected in its cost. These are meant to be statement sneakers, complete with leopard and polka dot prints, made in Italy. Oh, and they’re accented with gold plaques, if that explains anything.

Louis Pik Pik Men’s Flat

Price: $1,495
Materials: Suede
Why the high price? With Louis Vuitton, it’s hardly surprising to see a high price tag attached to a high fashion sneaker. And when Barney’s says that it’s “impossible to compete” with this shoe, you have to take their word for it.

2012 Nike Air Foamposite One Paranorman

Price: $3,877.99
Materials: Nike’s lightweight and durable “foamposite”
Why the high price? While my untrained eye sees nothing special in this sneaker, the Foamposite basketball shoe was released in 1997, ahead of its time, and due to its rare availability, is a coveted item for any sneakerhead. Basically, any Nike sneaker, new or old, with the -posite suffix is going to sell for good money. The Foamposite line can sell at a wide variety of price points, but this 2012 Paranorman black and green edition is extremely rare – resulting in a near $4,000 price tag on ebay.
