During the holiday season, many who celebrate Christmas can surely recall the times they spent as youngsters sitting on Santa Claus’s lap telling him what they want to unwrap beneath the tree. Few people, I’d wager, take the time to ask that very nice bearded man what he might like to receive.

Captains of Industry, a creative agency based in Boston, put together a video in which they went around asking various Boston area Santa portrayers what they think the big guy would want on December 25.

Some of the responses are pretty silly. The first Santa says he wants a Slap Chop. To each their own, I suppose.

The second Santa asked for something a little more practical, though still laced with humor. He wants the City of Boston to reduce the parking fees in garages for reindeers. Oh Santa, you jolly jokester you.

Then there’s bigger candy canes, satellite radio for the sleigh, and some well-deserved time off for Mrs. Claus.

Santa, though, also made note of some serious items that bring the idea of gift giving during this time of year some oft-needed perspective. One made it a point to suggest everyone remember our veterans who put their lives on the line so that we could enjoy the holidays. Another simply wants everybody to be happy and healthy. Another wants some love to go out to those affected by substance and drug abuse.

“This holiday season, let’s remember there’s a man behind the beard,” notes Captains of Industry at the end of the video.

Tis the season of giving, after all, and sometimes that goes well beyond the material items we swap on Christmas day. For those able to help out in any capacity they see fit, try not to hesitate to do so. In the meantime, BostInno wants to wish all of our readers a happy and healthy holiday season.

Cheers.
