It looks as though one of Boston’s most popular sports bars, and (I’m not ashamed to say it) one of my favorites, has closed for good. Boston Restaurant Talk reports today that Stadium Sports Bar and Grill in downtown Boston and in South Boston have both shuttered.

Back in 2013, the bar’s Waltham location also closed. Boston Restaurant Talk reports (per a licensing board page) that Stadium’s South Boston location “may be transferred to a new owner.”

The article does note that Stadium’s location on Hancock Street in Quincy Center “remains open under new ownership.” On Stadium’s website, it does indeed appear that Quincy is the only location of Stadium Sports Bar and Grill remaining.

The popular sports bar was known for its game nights, booze and rowdy atmosphere. The State Street location was also a frequent destination for Boston bar crawls. The remaining Stadium Sports Bar and Grill is located at 1495 Hancock Street in Quincy.
