Forget your college “sake bomb” days. One of Boston’s best restaurants is ready to school Bostonians on how to actually drink the Japanese alcoholic drink. This February, O Ya, the award-winning Japanese restaurant owned by Tim and Nancy Cushman, will host “Sake School” classes for wannabe connoisseurs. And the best part is – there are still tickets available.

According to a release, the Sake School will be lead by sake sommeliers Alyssa DiPasquale and O Ya owner, Nancy Cushman, who also completed the very prestigious Advanced Sake Professional Course in Japan. Together, they will share experiences in Japanese sake breweries and offer up their best sake suggestions and tips.

For 1.5 hours the sommeliers will teach the basics of sake. The class will include artisan sake tastings and food pairings with James Beard Award Winning Chef Tim Cushman’s signature dishes.

The first Sake School series event, Sake 101, will take place Saturday, February 7 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $155 per person and going fast! To reserve and purchase your spot in the class, call O Ya at 617-654-9900. For more information on the Sake School series, check here.
