Governor Charlie Baker announced he has signed an executive order declaring the travel ban for eastern Massachusetts and Boston lifted at midnight.

Speaking at a televised press briefing a little after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Gov. Baker also said the MBTA will resume subway and commuter train service Wednesday morning. Parking will be limited at commuter rail lots due to snow removal.

The MBTA will assess the conditions of bus routes and stops before resuming full bus service. No determination has been made in regards to ferry boat service.

Logan International Airport will be up and running at 6 a.m., with operations returning to normal by noon.

Gov. Baker said that thanks to a “ton of work by literally thousands of people over the last day and a half… [the state] is in good shape.” The governor did stress throughout his presser that “this storm is still going on,” noting that the majority of counties across the state were hit with more than 20 inches of snow.

The governor laughed off news of another storm that is expected to arrive on Friday. When made aware at the podium that Friday’s potential storm could dump another 5 to 6 inches of snow on the state, Gov. Baker joked that he and his staff “won’t even need to be in the bunker for that one.”
