The Weather Channel has named this one Winter Storm Linus, and it could dump another foot of snow on Boston.

Last Monday night, it was Winter Storm Juno – a blizzard that would become the biggest January storm in Boston history – that arrived. For almost 30 hours, Juno dropped more than two feet of snow across the entire state.

It doesn’t appear Linus will be as severe an event as Juno, but the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for eastern Massachusetts in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Accumulations of 10 to 14 inches of snow are expected along with strong winds gusting up to 40 mph. Hazardous travel conditions are likely with blowing and drifting snow producing visibilities of one quarter mile or less.
