It’s a bittersweet Monday for Boston. While some are reveling in the Patriots’ nail-biting victory over the Seattle Seahawks, others are strapping up their L.L. Bean Boots and trekking to work in more snow. This latest storm is expected to leave between 8 and 14 inches on Greater Boston.

The latest snowfall accumulation totals, courtesy of the National Weather Service in Boston and SKYWARN, as of 8 a.m. Monday morning indicate that Western Massachusetts is getting the brunt of the storm. The Boston area, though, will log plenty of snow of its own as the day progresses.

In Boston, a snow emergency and parking ban was put into effect Monday at 6 a.m. MBTA service is up and running and Gov. Charlie Baker is urging anyone who commutes on Monday to stay off the roads if possible and utilize public transportation.

Over 600 pieces of snow removal equipment and 20,000 tons of salt from Boston Public Works will be put on the city’s throughways throughout the day.
