If you were one of the poor souls that suffered through severe, winter-induced MBTA subway delays this morning, your commute home could be a lot less frustrating.

Pop-up bus service Bridj is offering evening rides Tuesday night for just a penny for all its routes.

“Boston commuters have had it rough the last two weeks,” said Bridj in an email sent Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. “These storms have been a challenge for everyone across the board, and we’re not one to kick a city while they’re down. We want to make tonight’s commute a little easier on you, so all passes tonight are only a penny!”

Prospective passengers need only download the Bridj app, available on both iOS and Android devices, reserve a seat using the promo code FREEBRIDJ and voila: you can avoid any impending MBTA frustrations until at least tomorrow.

“Thousands of Bostonians have taken rides since we launched in June and we’re selling out many trips,” Ryan Kelly, Bridj’s marketing manager, told BostInno prior. “The app launch was also very successful.”

Frigid weather and high volumes of snow resulted in a power shortage that occurred on the Red Line Monday night that lasted into Tuesday. Coupled with a shortage of fully functional subway cars, the MBTA was subsequently forced to shuttle passengers from Braintree to JFK/UMass stations by bus. On the Green Line, a broken track at Copley also resulted in an MBTA bus shuttle from Kenmore to Haymarket Stations.
