I hate to be the one to pile it on (no pun intended) but there’s more snow in store for tonight, Boston. Though we won’t be seeing the kind of high-impact storms that’ve been swirling around for near most of February, the National Weather Service is issuing a winter weather advisory.

According to the NWS, Boston will be the recipient of 2 to 4 inches of snow. The advisory will be in place from 10 p.m. Tuesday night to 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Most of the snow, if not all of it, will fall between the hours of 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Isolated areas in Eastern Massachusetts and along the coast could be hit with as much as 5 inches of snow.

What these additional inches will mean for City of Boston operations and MBTA service remains unclear at this point. Mayor Marty Walsh has been cautious when it comes to snow, not hesitating to enforce snow emergency and parking bans when warranted.

And as many have experienced first-hand, the MBTA has been struggling to remain functional during and after a winter season of more than 90 inches.

Stay tuned for more City of Boston and MBTA information as it pertains to snow. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
