It might be difficult to consider this now – you know, with the 100-plus inches of snow we’ve received and the perpetual issues plaguing public transit – but soon it will be spring. From the thawing ice and snow we’ll have a vantage point that allows us to look back on this historic winter and laugh. But wouldn’t it be nice to have a little keepsake to tell future generations about?

And what better memento than a T shirt?

The fine folks behind the wearable masterpiece pictured to the right eloquently sum up what a substantial chunk of commuters in the Greater Boston region have felt since late January: “Worst commute evah – Boston Winter 2015.”

At $12.50 apiece (shipping is $5.00 via USPS Priority Mail), the shirt was designed by Mike Dyer and his wife. Dyer is formerly of the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, the fundraising arm of the coalition of governmental agencies overseeing the Islands.

Inspiration struck, Dyer told me, when he was driving his dearly beloved to the embattled public transit system one day and he decided to take out his frustration with it in a constructive manner.

“Our target audience is what we call ‘urban explorers,'” said Dyer.”[For example] active parents, fitness enthusiasts, weekend warriors, and those that just enjoy life and make it happen.”

You can pre-order your shirt (available in XS, S, M, L, and XL – sizes tend to run small, we’re told) here and shipping will begin on March 2.

And if you’re a fan of Dyer’s design dexterity but don’t want or need any more reminders of the T’s ineptitude, fret not.

“My wife and I are working on a couple other designs, that will be more representative of our standard products, not funny blizzard goods,” Dyer added.

Perhaps nothing sells these shirts better, and might resonate more with commuters in hindsight than this line on Dyer’s Etsy page: “If you or a loved one braved the elements this winter commuting to Boston, this is the trophy you deserve. Wear it with pride.”
