If you have ever wanted to explore the Boston Harbor Islands, the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, Massachusetts DCR, the National Park Service, and REI have partnered to present a brand-new, unique opportunity to do just that.

Join an REI guide and other adventurers on a Kayak Tour of Peddocks Island, one of the largest and most diverse islands in the Boston Harbor (and also the island used for shooting scenes for Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island). After a quick Ferry ride to Peddocks and an orientation and safety briefing, participants will circumnavigate Peddocks Island by paddling the entirety of its coastline, breaking for lunch in Perry Cove for one of the best views of the Boston skyline.  The paddle will include stops at different locations on Peddocks to explore the historic structures, the Portuguese Village, and unique geological features. The paddle distance is between 6-8 miles and includes REI guides, essential paddling Equipment, ferry rides, and lunch.

This paddle is perfect for beginners and kayakers of all levels, and will take place on August 8, August 22, and September 5. For details on cost, times, and how to sign up, visit the REI website.
