Since the Boston Marathon bombings, the restaurant industry has banned together to help victims and their families, sharing dinner proceeds with charities and offering up free meals to first responders. Now, from the creative minds of two of Boston’s greatest chefs, comes a bold, new restaurant industry fundraiser designed to support victims of the attack.

Boston Bites Back (BBB) will bring together 100 local chefs at Fenway Park in support of The One Fund on Wednesday, May 15. In partnership with  Boston Red Sox, Governor Patrick, Mayor Menino, and ARAMARK, BBB is the brainchild of chefs Ken Oringer and Ming Tsai, who teamed up to find a way to do something more in the wake of last month’s tragedy.

“BBB is an opportunity for the city to join as one and acknowledge our strength as a community,” said Ken Oringer, owner of Clio, Toro, Coppa and Uni, in a press release. “Nothing speaks more to our collective resolve than an evening of hospitality, unity and hometown pride in one of the most iconic venues in Boston – Fenway Park.”

Thus far, noted Boston area chefs, such as Tiffani Faison of Sweet Cheeks, Jody Adams of Rialto, Jamie Bissonnette of Toro and Coppa, and Jeremy Sewall of Eastern Standard, have signed on to BBB in support of the cause.

“Food is our common ground, a universal experience,” added Ming Tsai, owner of Blue Ginger & Blue Dragon. “This event is an occasion for Bostonians to reconnect over food, mingle with chefs and honor our city’s inspiring resilience. It’s an opportunity for Bostonians to literally ‘bite’ back.”

At the event, chefs will be serving up samples to guests from behind concession stands and throughout tables in the Big Concourse and Budweiser deck at Fenway Park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on May 15.

There are only 5,000 general access tickets available to be sold at $200 each. There will also be 200 VIP tickets at $1,000 each, which grants guests exclusive access to Fenway’s EMC Club.

Additionally, there will be an online auction prior to the event with restaurants, retailers and local sports franchises offering up their goods and services.

BBB hopes to raise $1 million for The One Fund through the event.
