Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) is just over a month away and Apple users are beginning to wonder what kind of developments they expect to see. We’ve heard about iOS 7 its the updated UI. We’re also  anticipating a next-generation iPhone, though little information has leaked. Until now that is. It’s recently been confirmed that Apple will begin producing two–that’s right, two–iPhones, with the Sharp to begin LCD display production for the  iPhone 5S in June and a low-end iPhone on the horizon.

AppleInsider published today that Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty suggested that both models will begin production this summer. A lower-end device by Apple is certainly uncharacteristic though it seems that since the passing of Steve Jobs, Apple has lost that innovative spark it once championed. Nonetheless, opening up to a greater market share can only prove to be valuable for Apple as its already established a loyal fan-base and marketed itself as a household brand.

The Apple rumor mill is firing on all cylinders these days with many techies, writers, and pundits suggesting an iPhone 6 as soon as early 2014 with the possibility for an updated iOS. Apple is not usually one to churn out device after device before battle testing the one in play, so for it to manufacture an iPhone 6 hot on the heels of the 5S and lower-end model seems equally uncharacteristic. Unless   of course, the iPhone 6 in question is the low-end handset.

Either way, what we do know is that Apple will have its next-generation iPhone 5S with LCD display on track and ready to debut at the WWDC next month in  San Francisco along with the updated iOS 7. The 5S is expected to hit the retail shelves around September and the low-end iPhone report suggests a similar timeline for that device.

What do you all think about a low-end iPhone? Is it worth the buy? Did you purchase your iPhone because it wasn’t the budget device on the market? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
