LG created quite a stir today when it sent out invitations reminding people to “save the date” for the South Korean tech manufacturers event to be held in Macau on May 30. The invitation simply reads “Imagination Begins” with the ‘G’ in boldface. Many are expecting this to be the forum for the launch of the LG Optimus G2.

Earlier this month LG began taking pre-orders for its Optimus G Pro and announced its release for May 10. The G Pro appears to be LG’s breadwinner as of now, prompting many to speculate what it has in store for its May 30 event. Recent leaks, especially by ever-leaking twitter handle @evleaks, of an LG touchscreen device and a new speaker arrangement at the top. LG manufactured Google’s Nexus line of smartphones which at first glance this could be, though the prominent LG suggests non-collaborative device.

Should the event reveal that this device in question is the Optimus G2–or really any other model for that matter–its got a tough act to follow. The already debuted G Pro will sport a respectable 5.5-inch 1920×1080 HD display, which equates to a pixel density of about 400 ppi.  The G Pro will also  carry hefty a 13 mp HD rear-facing camera with audio zoom for enhanced sound quality during video capture. A front-facing camera is also included and looks to be 2.1 mp.

The interior of the G Pro is certainly just as, if not more, impressive than other high-end handsets out there. It will be run on a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor powered by a 3,140 mAh Battery. It allows for 32GB of storage, with support for an additional 64, and 2GB of RAM allows for multitasking and tech plenty of fun. The G Pro will operate on Android’s 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

So what could LG possibly have in store for its Imagination Begins event on May 30? Time to open up the speculation and rumor swirling to all of you. What does LG have in store?
