Good news for soon-to-be Samsung Galaxy S4 users. Carrier Verizon confirmed today that Samsung Galxy S4 release date will be moved up one week to May 23 instead of the original May 30 date. Usually carriers have to delay the retail readiness of their devices so this comes as good news to all. AT&T and T-Mobile already has the Galaxy S4 but Verizon is the largest carrier in the country.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts impressive specs and has garnered even better reviews. This beast offers a crystal clear 5-inch 1920×1080 HD Super AMOLED display, provides ample space with the option of 16GB or 32GB of storage space (with the option of an additional 64GB courtesy of the microSD), runs on Android’s 4.2.2 version of the Jelly Bean OS, and is powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor. Throw in a 2mp front-facing camera and a 13-mp rear-facing camera and you’ve got the monstrously popular Galaxy S4.

Samsung is all about pleasing its fan-base today as earlier today leaked photos hinted at a more-than-likely Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. Interesting how all of this good news happened to surface just a day before Nokia’s May 14 event in London where it will allegedly debut its new flagship smartphone , the Nokia Lumia 928 with PureView imaging technology and Carl Zeiss lens; and days before the annual Google I/O developers conference where we’re hoping to see highly-anticipated gadgets like Google Glass, a next-generation Nexus 7 tablet, and even possibly a smartwatch made by Motorola. So is Samsung trying to steal some of Nokia’s and Google’s thunder?

So who out there is pumped about getting their Samsung Galaxy S4 a week in advance? Is this just an attempt to steal some of the limelight away from Nokia and Google before their respective conferences? Let us know what your feelings are in the comments section below.
