Walt Doyle, CEO of Where – bought by PayPal for $135 million in 2011 – has moved on from his role as General Manager of the PayPal Media Network, according to a report by Xconomy. Indeed, an email to Doyle prompted the following auto-response:

After a great run – it’s time to take the summer off.  Today is my last day at the company – if you need to contact me please use my personal email … David Chang runs the PayPal Boston office.

Where – originally uLocate and now PayPal Media Network – is a location-based mobile ad network. Given it’s been nearly two years since the deal, it’s no surprise that Doyle is moving on. But the Xconomy report offers no word on what he’ll be up to next. We’ve heard whispers that he’s exploring the option of becoming a VC. Doyle is already an active angel, and sits on the board of startups including EverTrue, Celtra, and Leaf.
