It’s no secret that the new UI for iOS 7 is going to look significantly different than what we’re all used to. But a new iOS 7 concept video by SimplyZesty brings the rumors to life. In versions past, iOS boasted the glitz and glamour that the late Steve Jobs championed in not just his mobile operating system, but in all of his gadgets and devices. Jony Ive is in charge of design and the Jobs disciple is looking to take the iOS 7 UI in a new, “flatter” direction. The iOS 7 release date is pegged for WWDC in June, so get ready.

Check out this iOS 7 concept video:

A CNN article yesterday afternoon goes along with the gossip already out there, suggesting that the UI overhaul will be announced at Apple’s WWDC this summer.

“Van Baker, mobility analyst at Gartner, said a complete redesign of iOS is ‘likely’ when Apple announces its latest version of the software, iOS 7, at its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco on June 10.”

The concept video is solely based on leaked and confirmed information by Apple so its important to consider that this isn’t an exact replica of what the Cupertino-based tech giant has cooking up in its labs. But its probably a decent imagining.

The interface which will lack Apple’s signature skeuomorphism has drawn criticism from Apple loyalists and comparisons to Apple’s biggest rival, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 UI.

Earlier this month it was reported that Apple may not ship iOS 7 in time for the WWDC as the design revamping had fallen behind schedule. But not to go along with rumors, Ive transferred members of the OS X engineering corps to that of the iOS 7 in order to meet production timing and expectations.

If the concept video holds true, are the Apple fans out there going to be happy?  Time to weigh in with your commentary. Are you excited about the new iOS 7 user interface? Are you disappointed with what Apple may offer? Is this enough for you to switch from Apple to, say, Samsung?
