An innocent man was butchered in the streets of Woolwich, London, yesterday in what British authorities are calling a terrorist attack. The man hacked to death by a meat cleaver was a British soldier, confirmed U.K. police this morning, and the suspected assailants are considered to be Jihad Muslims. To add insult to injury, one of the two suspects turned to the crowd of stunned spectators, hands soaked in blood still clutching his machete knife, and delivered a chilling message caught on video. The suspect along with another man were shot and wounded by police and are in their custody.

The two men smashed their car into the unsuspecting soldier, dragged him into the street, and viciously murdered him in cold blood. Rather than escape, one of them took the opportunity to spread an extremist message caught on camera by a bystander.

The speaker and his alleged partner were described by witnesses as crazed and animalistic, saying:

We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you. The only reason we have done this is because Muslims are dying every day. This British soldier is an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I apologize that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don’t care about you.

Upon arriving at the disturbing scene, police proceeded to shoot and wound the two men and have since taken them to separate hospitals to treat their injuries.

The Muslim Council of Britain completely condemned the attack, saying in a statement yesterday evening,

This is a truly barbaric act that has no basis in Islam and we condemn this unreservedly. Our thoughts are with the victim and his family. We understand the victim is a serving member of the Armed Forces.

David Cameron confirmed it was an act of terror, saying he had a “strong indication” it was such a degree of an attack. He also took to his Twitter handle to tell the U.K. people as well as the world that “We will never buckle to terror” and “The people who did this were trying to divide us but they will only bring us together”
