A new trailer was released for Don Jon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut. The dramedy also written by Gordon-Levitt stars him, opposite the lovely and alluring Scarlett Johansson, as a bulked-up New Jersey meat-head womanizer known as Don Jon who values family, friends, church, his car, but above all else he values his penchant for porn.

Per the trailer, it looks as if the plot is about Don Jon who, after failing in relationship after relationship while bedding a bevy of honeys along the way, meets Johansson’s character and falls in love–until she catches him in the act of, well, you get the idea. Its that old chestnut about possessing the inability to connect with another on certain intimate and emotional levels due to unrealistic expectations distorted by the questionable, though highly successful, pornography industry.

Check out the trailer for Don Jon which will hit theaters in October this year.

The cast features Gordon-Levitt and Johansson, as well as Julianne Moore, Tony Danza, and Glenne Headly. Along with being the first flick with Gordon-Levitt as director, this will also mark his first feature film after directing the short movie Sparks in 2009.

Due to hit the silver screen of October this year, Don Jon is certainly not a film to see with the whole family but appears to be filled with plenty of witty one-liners, unfolding character developments, and comically uncomfortable situations. It may even make dudes out there think twice about what they leave in their browser history.

So what do you all think from the trailer? Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson are likely to draw a big crowd based on popularity alone but how do you think they’ll fare in these roles? Will JGL make a dud on his directorial debut? Or will he hit a home run? Let us know what you think .
