With BostInno’s State of Innovation well under way, it’s safe to say we have retail and e-commerce on the brain. The month-long, in-depth feature covering local innovation in education, marketing, mobile, and – last but not least – retail/e-commerce has us asking questions, stumbling upon some pretty interesting facts, and of course, looking at retail and e-commerce in and around the Boston area.

It’s plain to see this sector shows no signs of slowing down. Anyone strolling along the streets of our great city will have no trouble recognizing the riches of retail Boston boasts. Most business-minded folk will also be quick to acknowledge that the Hub is home to some major e-commerce players as well. But in an industry driven by constantly evolving styles, seasons, suppliers, and trends, it’s hard to get a true look inside any given business.  Lucky for us, a number of these brands have created their own Channels on BostInno, and are enlightening us with content, events, Careers, and more.

  • CustomMade, an online matchmaker connecting Buyers who want one-of-a-kind Creations with professional and passionate Makers, is a frequent content contributor. Check out their member-level Channel to discover tons of amazing items you never knew you needed.
  • Recently rebranded The Grommet launches undiscovered products and helps them succeed, just as they themselves continue moving on up.
  • Life is good is spreading the power of optimism through merchandise, festivals, nonprofit work, and their Channel. The Business of Good sponsored content series highlighted those doing well by doing good, and we’re thrilled to have them involved with events like BostonFest to keep the good vibes flowing.
  • Project Repat creates jobs with dignity by upcycling excess tees into more functional and fashionable clothing accessories like blankets, bags and scarves. Whether you’re looking to get a job at a consumer good startup or pay tribute to Marathon victims, their content has you covered.
  • More of a market type? SoWa, Boston’s original outdoor art and indie design market,  uses their Channel to feature participating food trucks and can’t-miss vendors.
  • The experienced retailers-turned-consultants at Retail Concepts are industry experts. Their Channel offers a wealth of info and advice to help startup and existing retailers flourish.
  • E-commerce giants Rue La La and Wayfair are Boston-born and bred member-level Channels. They have used the platform to list Careers, and highlight culture, fun, and why they’re fantastic firms to work for.
  • Who could forget furniture? Blueport Commerce and Turnstone are innovating and making a difference with technology, services, and inspirational space, and letting us in on the tricks of the trade.
  • Other retail-related firms leveraging BostInno’s Channel platform to appeal to a vast and ever-expanding audience include: ’47 BrandFaneuil Hall MarketplaceGemvara, and Jack Wills.

We love our diverse and expansive community, from retail to real estate pros. That’s why we want to make sure they have the opportunity to take advantage of prime positioning and promotion, early and exclusive access to partnership opportunities, unlimited careers, events, and analytics, and more, if they so choose. This summer, free Channels will need to upgrade to the Basic, Member, or Partner levels in order to continue publishing unlimited content on BostInno.

Want to learn more about getting your desired value from the Channel platform? We’re hosting weekly tutorials to walk people through enhanced Channel features, and we’d love to have you join us. Contact sales@streetwise-media.com for a sneak peek.
