Tonight in Winnipeg, Canada mixed martial arts event UFC 161 will pit Rashad Evans vs. Dan Henderson in the 3-round, Light Heavyweight headliner bout. UFC 161 will be available live on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. ET, 9 p.m. CT, and 7 p.m. PT.

Evans (17-3-1), hailing from Niagara Falls, NY,  is a former MMA Heavyweight contender and former UFC Light Heavyweight champ with a lot to prove. Standing 5 ft 11 in, weighing in at 206 lbs, and having a 75-inch reach, Evans boasts black belts in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Gaidojutsu. When fighting at the Heavyweight level, Evans packed on the pounds bulking up to 265 lbs.

Conversely, the 6 ft 1, 204 lbs Henderson (29-9) is a former Olympic wrestler who turned to MMA in 1997 after failing to medal at the 1992 and 1996 games in Barcelona and Atlanta, respectively. He boasts a 72-inch reach and holds the distinction of being the only fighter to hold titles in two different major MMA promoted weight classes, having held the  Welterweight  and Middleweight belts of the Pride Fighting Championships.

The match was slated to feature an Interim Bantamweight Championship bout between the current titlep-holder Renan Barăo, and former WEC Bantamweight Champion and challenger  Eddie Wineland. On May 21 it was announced that Barăo had pulled out of the match due to a nagging foot injury.  Upon Barăo’s departure, Wineland was similarly removed from the card resulting in the scheduled bout between Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson being  moved up to serve as the headliner bout.

This MMA fight will be the first to ever take place in the Canadian province of Manitoba.
