In July, BostInno reported on a (literally) shocking new product: Pavlok, an electroshock wristband that’s meant to prevent you from skipping your daily workout. Now, they’ve launched an Indiegogo campaign.

The 30-Day Indiegogo campaign, which ends Oct. 30, has already raised about $16,500 of the $50,000 goal – and they’re offering some pretty sweet perks. The Pavlok Early Bird devices, requiring a $99 donation, have already sold out, but there are still the “Almost-as-Early-Bird” packs remaining unclaimed – which come with the Pavlok wristband, device, app and charger – available for $129.

Pavlok is named after Pavlov, the scientist who studied conditioning with the famous Pavlov’s dogs experiment. And the modern-day device isn’t just for getting you to work out. Pavlok can be used to change any bad habits. With the app, you receive rewards of prizes or money for completing your goals, but if you fail, there’s real negative consequence. If you’re late to the gym, it will ring loudly, post to your Facebook wall, or give away your money.

For those truly committed, the Pavlok wristband will actually shock you into completing your goals. A little uncomfortable, but it’s certainly an incentive to work out, or finally get around to that housecleaning.
