Merrill & Co.

Happy weekend! We hope these freezing cold temps have made you hungry because we’ve got five restaurants you absolutely have to experience before next Monday. From sizzling hot pot to a new Sunday night dinner series, here’s where you should be eating right now.

Bastille Kitchen

If you’re looking to end your weekend on the right note, we recommend heading to Fort Point’s Bastille Kitchen for their newest Neighborhood Night Dinner Series. The recently launched series features a Sunday night prix-fixe menu for $38. Diners can enjoy dishes like a Baby Beets Salad, Filet Mignon and Creme Brulee. The special Sunday menu is offered in conjunction with the restaurant’s regular a la carte menu. If you go, Bastille Kitchen is located at 49 Melcher St. in Boston.

City Landing

It’s the last chance to try one of Boston’s best waterfront restaurants. City Landing, located near the New England Aquarium, is closing for good this coming Saturday, January 10. According to a release sent earlier this week, Chef-Owner Bill Brodsky will be transitioning to his new role as Chief Culinary Officer of Boston Nightlife Ventures. If you go, City Landing is located at 255 State St. in Boston.

Merrill & Co.

As of yesterday, Merrill & Co. is officially back open after closing briefly for “winter break.” The popular South End restaurant has undergone a bit of a menu makeover. According to Eater Boston, the menu has been revamped “to better achieve their renewed vision.” In addition, the restaurant is aiming to make itself a “more fun, casual spot,” notes the article. If you go, Merrill & Co. is located at 1 Appleton St. in Boston.

ShabuMaru

There’s a new hot pot spot awaiting your arrival in Back Bay! According to UrbanDaddy, the long-awaited ShabuMaru opened this week inside The Westin Copley Place. The new restaurant offers “a unique and healthy Japanese hot pot dining experience with fresh, local ingredients.” If you go, ShabuMaru is located at 10 Huntington Ave. in Boston.

Viale

If you haven’t checked out this new Mediterranean spot in Central Square, we recommend making a trip. The restaurant, opened by Chef Greg Reeves and Mark Young, offers a Sunday night special featuring pasta and wine pairing for just $15. If you go, Viale is located 502 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge.
