On Tuesday morning in white-out conditions, a woman got stuck in the snow on Route 2 West in Leominster. It turns out, she was in labor.

The Massachusetts State Police responded to the 38-year old woman at about 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday. The latest snowfall accumulation totals indicate that Leominster received 29 inches of snow.

According to the State Police, “Trooper Gregory Jones arrived on scene, placed the woman in his cruiser, and transported her to Leominster Hospital.”

State Police media personnel told BostInno that other than this incident, the roads were quiet and tame mostly due to the travel ban, which was lifted at midnight.

Aside from skid-outs and a jackknifed tractor trailer, there were minimal accidents.

In a press conference Wednesday morning, Gov. Charlie Baker also mentioned that at this time there had been no reported fatalities related to the blizzard.

Further, Boston hospitals admitted just a handful of people due to blizzard-related injuries. Boston Medical Center told BostInno that there were no “emergency room visits directly related to the storm.”

Massachusetts General Hospital treated four individuals, two of whom sustained hand injuries caused by snowblowers. Another person was treated for carbon monoxide poisoning attributed to an improperly cleared exhaust pipe and the other was treated for hypothermia.
