By now you’ve probably heard but if you haven’t, I’ll take the responsibility of being the bearer of bad news: Boston is expected to get another 8 to 14 inches of snow this weekend. But before you go and blast your annoyance with Mother Nature over social media, take a deep breath and imagine the picturesque beaches of Martha’s Vineyard.

Feel better?

Pretty soon, you’ll be able to take a more direct and efficient trip to the Massachusetts island destination thanks to Logan Airport and JetBlue.

On Thursday evening, Massport announced that JetBlue will be providing seasonal trips to the Vineyard as well tropical Port-au-Prince, Haiti, both beginning on June 17 and lasting through September 5 and 7, respectively.

The airline’s flights to the Vineyard join its summer service out to neighboring Nantucket.

JetBlue will also be commencing flights out to Sacramento, if Northern California is your thing.

Flights out to the Vineyard will run daily during that timeframe while Haiti service will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Sacramento flights will take place on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, and all three are nonstop.

“The Commonwealth has always been a place where cultures have come together to prosper and the international growth of these new routes at Logan fosters this in the twenty first century,” said Gov. Charlie Baker in a statement.  “I’m pleased that JetBlue is adding more destinations to increase service options and competition and would like to recognize Massport and Logan Airport for identifying new markets to expand options out of Boston.”

Added Mayor Marty Walsh, “as the number of direct flights to Boston grows, we continue to attract more tourists and more business to the City of Boston, creating stronger connections with the global community.”
