2011 has kicked off with a great lineup of meetups for mobile enthusiasts in the greater Boston area. We’ve compiled five mobile events from around the Hub this month below. If you’re looking to do some networking, talk code, or meet new companies in the mobile space, check out these events.
Boston Android Hackfest
Developers meet to do things ranging from installing Eclipse and the Android SDK to writing a widget to exploring alternative SDKs to upgrading their phone. Check out our story on all the cool things this Boston dev group is doing to fill in Android holes.

Tech Tuesday ft. Mobile Apps, Devices, Platforms & More
Organized by the Mass. Technology Leadership Council, join your fellow geeks, tech savvy professionals, DIY-ers, press, and other industry luminaries for this informal gathering. Presenting companies include AT&T, HeyWire, HTC, Malleable Devices, Microsoft, Motorola, Pyxis Mobile, RIM, Samsung, Sprint, and Wireless ESP.
When: January 11 6pm-8pm

App Development Meetup – General Meetup
This new meetup started this past fall for those interested in apps and app development for iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod, and Android). This meetup will be informal, exchanging tips, leads, networking, and sharing ideas about 2011 meetups and workshops.

Mobile Monday Demo Night
A personal favorite, Mobile Monday’s demo night is sponsored by Charles River Ventures. Mobile Monday will be kicking off the year demoing awesome applications built by local Boston developers.

Drinks on Tap
DrinksOnTap is an informal event for Boston area iPhone developers. The event is done every 3-4 months and brings together some of the leading developers in the Boston area.We reached out to Greg Raiz who organizes the event, and he says they are currently planning their next which may fall the end of the month or very beginning of February.
