It’s the end of a long week, and one of the first consistently warm(er) weeks of the year, so why not celebrate by sampling some beer?

This weekend, there will be a Drink Craft Beer Springfest celebrating the best gift spring brings: hops. And besides ending your week on a positive note, here are five reasons why you should go:

  1. For $50-60, depending on whether you choose the regular session or VIP session, you can have access to unlimited 2 ounce samples of over 80 beers from one of 25 of New England’s craft breweries. Yes, unlimited.
  2. Each of those 25 breweries will have at least one beer that features hops, and you might be one of the first people to try it! Many of the breweries are releasing their hop-focused beer at the event, or created the brew specifically for it.
  3. The breweries. Many of the featured breweries are from Massachusetts, and some of their brews even made our list of locally brewed beers that will remind you of warmer weather.
  4. The venue. Hosted at Space 57 at 200 Stuart Street, it’s right near the heart of the Theater District as well as the Boston Common. That means you could catch a show or movie before or after your beer (preferably after, because everything’s better after a beer).
  5. The eats. Coming from local food vendors and available for purchase at the event, the list of snacks to accompany your brew include: Roxy’s grilled cheese, Grillo’s locally made pickles (including hop pickles), Union Square Donuts and locally roasted flavored nuts.

Hopefully, these reasons justify why you should be enjoying a sampling of beer instead of staying in tonight and watching Survivor re-runs or whatever. Live a little. Drink a little. You can purchase your tickets here.
