As fans of Rue know, we love it when high-end fashion becomes attainable – and with designer collaborations all the rage right now, that’s exactly what’s happening this season.
Just recently, we’ve swooned over Target and Jason Wu, H&M and Isabel Marant, and Catherine Malandrino for Kohl’s. And launching today, December 5, we can add yet another one to the list: L’Wren Scott for Banana Republic. The limited edition, 50-piece collection includes sequined cardigans, lip-print pajamas, a velvet clutch that also doubles as a necklace, and a faux-fur bolero.
If you aren’t familiar with L’Wren, here are a few fun facts: 1. She’s dating Mick Jagger. 2. She’s a former model who’s worked for Chanel, Calvin Klein, and Thierry Mugler. 3. She dresses red-carpet favorites such as Nicole Kidman, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Penelope Cruz.
And when we asked about her new project, she said, “It’s glamorous, flirty, and feminine. The goal of this collection is to celebrate women. I love the holidays because women are likely to be a bit more adventurous with their looks, experimenting with colors, prints, and cuts.” As for her go-to holiday outfit? A lace pencil skirt or sequined shift dress paired with a daring heel. Also a holiday do? Being comfortable and confident in what you wear. L’Wren wants women “to exude confidence – whether on a night out in one of the more glam cocktail dresses, or while lounging at home in our beautiful silk printed pajamas.” Cheers to that.
