On the corner of Holland and Wallace Streets in Somerville’s Davis Square, a brand new hair salon is now open, providing premium cut, color and blow dry services. Evie Salon and Studio is the first solo endeavor by local stylist Yvonne Bonaccorso.

Located in a small, unassuming corner building, the salon houses a sleek, modern interior, and promises a chic experience. Bonaccorso works with three additional stylists to offer a full spread of services, like cuts, color treatments like single process, balayage, highlights and ombre, as well as Keratin and Moroccan oil treatments. Wednesdays at the salon are Mens Day, and men can get haircuts for $35, a discount from their regular cost of $50. Women’s haircuts begin at $65.

In addition to acting as a premium hair salon, Bonaccorso has plans for the studio to be both a community space for events, as well as a space for stylists to learn the trade. Events that Bonaccorso wants to host include beer and wine tastings, art openings, fashion nights, braid bars, styling workshops and more, in collaboration with local residents and fellow businesses.

Bonaccorso also wants to help aspiring stylists learn to not only perform the trade but to also run a business. She hopes to open additional salons in more areas, with the idea that these budding stylists will eventually take over the businesses themselves.

In a press release, Bonaccorso said:

I’ve been in the hair industry for nearly my entire life, and I’ve been wanting to open my very own salon for a while now. I’m excited to make it a place that people can not only come get their hair perfected, but also meet and mingle with neighbors, and explore other passions as well.

Evie is open Monday through Saturday at 57 Holland Street in Davis Square, and has free parking outside.
