High fashion and dessert? I think I speak for every woman when I say they’re pretty much the two best things on earth. And now, Italian fashion house Prada has had the ingenious idea to combine them.

According to British Vogue, the label best known for its leather carryalls and sky-high heels has bought an 80% stake in Angelo Marchesi, Srl, the parent company of the historic Milanese pastry shop, Pasticceria Marchesi.

And the news gets even better. This may not be the last out-of-the-ordinary collaboration to come out of Prada – apparently, future development projects are already in the works. Might I suggest a pizza shop? Or maybe even a martini bar?

In the meantime, I’ll have a Saffiano Vernice tote with a side of biscotti, please.
