Accenture

Global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company Accenture has appointed John Drake as Managing Director of its Boston office. From the announcement:

“John Drake has been named Managing Director for Accenture’s Boston office, where he leads approximately 850 professionals and is responsible for managing the local business, expanding the company’s civic presence and fostering employee engagement. In addition to serving as the head of the Boston office, Drake supports Accenture’s electronic and high technology clients.”

Avila Therapeutics

Waltham based Avila Therapeutics, a biotechnology company developing targeted covalent drugs, has appointed Andrew Hirsch as its first Chief Financial Officer. From the release:

“Mr. Hirsch joins Avila from Biogen Idec where he spent the past 10 years in a number of roles of increasing responsibility – most recently as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and M&A. Mr. Hirsch’s prior roles during his tenure at Biogen Idec included responsibilities in the finance organization for corporate planning, budget development and management, and investor relations. In addition he served as Program Executive in neurology leading the development teams for the company’s BG-12, Avonex, and Tysabri programs. Prior joining Biogen Idec, Mr. Hirsch led business development for a software start-up company and spent several years in management consulting at Stern Stewart & Co. and The Parthenon Group.”

EBI Consulting

Burlington based EBI Consulting, a leading provider of environmental sustainability, engineering and due diligence services, has appointed John Hession as Vice President of Engineering Services. From the release:

“Hession comes to EBI from Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. of Watertown, Mass., a 900-person firm that provides integrated transportation, land development and environmental services from 20 offices along the East Coast. At Vanasse, he spent 12 years in positions of increasing responsibility and most recently was retail practice leader and a principal. Prior to that Hession was a senior project manager / team leader at Otak of Lake Oswego, Ore., and a storm water specialist for the city of West Linn, Ore. He began his career as a project engineer for BSC Group, Inc. of Norwell, Mass.”
