Ron Burgundy and the Channel Four gang of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be back in a new city, New York. We got the latest insight into San Diego’s best news anchor by watching the teaser trailer that just came out over the weekend. According to a tweet by director Adam McKay, Anchorman 2 doesn’t hit theaters until December 20, yet Paramount has been steadily releasing trailers in anticipation. Not a bad decision on their part since the latest trailer has already gone viral:

Although little information about the plot is known, and not much was revealed in the teaser trailers, we know that Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner will all be back on the big screen. In an interview with Salon, Mckay did reveal what Anchorman 2 might be about: “Keep in mind we’re still writing the story, but I’ll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I’ll give you that. I’ll give you one other one: bowling for dollars.” Also, a set photo that was released in March shows Will Ferrell with a young boy, who is being interpreted as Ron Burgundy’s son. The mention of a “custody battle” and the set photo have lead to speculation that we will see Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) fighting over their son. Presumably we will learn more as December nears, but what we can say for certain now is that, as Will Ferrell disclosed, “the movie will be filmed entirely in English” and Ron Burgundy’s mustache is real.
